For items lost in the UK
From 1st July 2021, all shipments sent to EU countries and overseas are subject to customs clearance, even personal effects.
Please also be aware that parcels containing alcohol may be subject to country-specific restrictions and high rates of duty and excise can apply.
In addition to current prohibited items, we cannot accept foodstuffs to any EU country.
Parcels sent to the UK from EU countries will also be subject to customs clearance. This is applicable even to personal effects. We cannot accept parcels containing alcohol or foodstuffs for delivery into the UK.
For items lost in the EU
Items can be sent within EU without having to clear customs or requiring a customs invoice.
To send items from the EU to the UK Mainland and Northern Ireland will require customs clearance, commercial invoice and appropriate customs documentation.
2. Collection by Claimant from Lost Property Office
Your Lost Property can be collected directly from the Lost Property Office where it is being stored. To ensure that we always return lost property to its rightful owner we require the claimant provides their Lost Item reference number as well as proof of identity in the form of photographic ID such as passport, driving licence or official company ID.
We may ask additional questions in order to establish proof of ownership (especially where high value items are involved) so if you have any receipts or photographs that will help us to identify you as the owner please bring them with you. The Lost Property Item Management Charge is payable in advance of the item being collected. This charge can be paid in-store or online in advance.
